Algae – The Healthy Ingredient
Algae (edible seaweed) is the best sources of iodine. It`s used in raw form, unlike fish and other sea food. Iodized salt has less benefits, because a large digestible iodine is volatilized while being stored.
Generally Iodine is necessary for the hormonal balance and functioning of the thyroid gland. Aside from iodine, seaweed contain a lot of useful and rare micro elements, which are difficult to obtain from other foods, as well as useful fatty acids and a rich set of essential amino acids .
Common algae include: red, brown and green and each of them is useful in its own way thanks to its unique compound.
Add seaweed into salads, soups and stews several times a week. You should not be afraid to receive “excess” iodine, because it`ll be simply excreted from the body.
